Value Delivered

For this new construction/retrofit project, the Oregon division of Dynalectric Company (Dynalectric Oregon) collaborated with the general contractor and subcontractors to offer multiple services from one source, helping to reduce time and costs for the general contractor and client.

Client Objectives

Portland Community College (PCC) wanted to achieve an overall expansion of space to include a new 9,104-square-foot two-story building and rework two existing buildings housing their Child Development Center. They needed our services to update lighting and other electrical systems, and install a children’s play area with a water feature.

Solutions

We designed, installed, and fenced in a unique water feature for PCC’s children’s play area between their existing and new buildings. To help ensure the water feature offers two output points, we rewired the control panel to operate from two places, an option that was not included in the initial system. The water is activated by a foot-operated push-button. We also installed electrical solutions including power, lighting, low voltage, access control, fire alarm, and security systems.

Client Background

Portland Community College is the largest community college in Oregon, serving 1.9 million residents in five counties in and around the Portland area.
