French Hill Farm, AURORA, OR
VALUE DELIVERED
- Improved energy efficiency
- Expert energy auditing
- Ability to meet energy objectives with minimal renovations and lower costs than originally anticipated
- Installation of appropriate amount of new equipment to meet the clients’ requirements
- Maximum use of federal and state tax rebates.
OBJECTIVES
To achieve 'net zero'” energy usage.
SCOPE OF WORK
Initially, this client asked Dynalectric to help it achieve its net zero energy goal by installing an extensive solar array. After conducting an energy and solar audit, however, Dynalectric recommended changing to high-efficiency interior lighting, a suggestion that required minimal time and expense, but which reduced the facilities’ energy consumption by 35 percent. This allowed the client to install a smaller 88-kilowatt solar array that provides nearly 100 percent of the facility’s electrical requirements, while effectively meeting the client’s energy goals. Furthermore, with federal and state tax credits and rebates, the client saved $210,000 on an installation that will pay for itself in approximately six years.
